Kinma
Privacy Policy
Kinma is a small, independently-run app. This policy explains what information Kinma collects, why, and what control you have over it.
What we collect
- Account info: your name, and either an email address + password, or a Google account identifier, depending on how you sign up. If you start anonymously without an email, we store a device identifier instead.
- Your pet: its name, color, personality, and progress (nourishment, sociability, evolution).
- Meal photos: photos you take to feed your pet, along with what Kinma recognized in them (dish name, cuisine, food groups).
- Profile details you choose to add: a profile photo, a short bio, and favorite cuisines.
- Table / social activity: when you start or join a table with friends, who else was there, and when - this is what powers the Faces and social-growth features.
How we use it
- Meal photos are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to recognize what's in them. Anthropic does not use this content to train its models. Photos are not sent anywhere else.
- If you sign up with an email, we may send you account-related email (verification, password resets) through our email provider, Resend.
- Your name, pet, and table activity are shown to other Kinma users you've shared a table with - that's the point of the social features.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Where it's stored
Kinma's data is hosted on Railway. Meal and profile photos are stored on Kinma's server infrastructure. We take reasonable steps to keep this data secure, but as with any service, we can't guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- Edit or remove content: you can correct a meal's dish/cuisine, clear your entire meal history, or reset your pet at any time from within the app.
- Delete your account: the Profile screen has a "Delete account" option. This permanently removes your login, your pet, and your meal history. Because tables are shared with other people, your past table history stays visible to the friends you shared it with, but your name is replaced with "Deleted user."

Children's privacy
Kinma is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
